Roosevelt Thompson was the valedictorian of the 1980 graduating class of Central High School, the owner of the all-time highest score on the National Merit Scholarship exam by an Arkansan, a Rhodes scholar, a student at Yale, and a future student at Oxford University. Unfortunately, he was killed in a car accident in 1984, at the age of 22.
